We're back!
| | Sorry that the site has been offline for so long, but as of today we are back up and running at full speed! (I'm not entirely sure how I made it work again, but let's not pay too close attention to that.)
So get posting your news, events and reviews, and be sure to check out the new picture gallery by clicking the link in the left hand menu.
Cheers!

Can't Kite for Shite
| | Welcome to cantkiteforshite.co.uk , the home of Team Can't Kite.
On site you will find info about us, what we fly and where we fly.
We'll tell you about the kit we covet and the events we've been to.
You'll find our pictures and videos in the gallery.
About us
Team Can't Kite started to take shape in Summer 2004. It started out
with two people and an HQ Symphony, and quickly progressed onto a Beamer,
which soon became two. It was then we learnt the first rule of kiting:
You can never have enough kites.
As we went out and got dragged along the beach, our friends became intrigued.
Kites? You mean like Mary Poppins, paper and string? We took
them out, we put them straight, we got them hooked.
The kite bag grew, as did the size of the team. Soon, recreational flying
wasn't enough, we wanted wheels, and of course more kites.
Afternoons at the beach or the park became kite road trips. There were
festivals, events, open days. And lots of crispy kites.
Now, when the wind rustles the trees, we are watching. When the ground
is flat and open, we want to be on it. We're hooked, and those around
us can't understand why, until they try it.
But of course you have to remember one thing; we can't kite for shite! |

Fylde Borough Council have stunned local flyers by banning the use of 2 and 4 line kites on it's beaches.
The move comes after a dog-walker became tangled in kite lines.
Lytham has been no stranger to kiting troubles after the tragic death of Carol Cruz who died after being hit by a landyacht on the beach.
To register your opposition to the ban, please send an email to lift.theban@ntlworld.com - these emails will be presented to the council in a forthcoming meeting.
Updates will be posted as they become available at www.lifttheban.2ya.com

Boy, it's chilly up North!
Not of course that that stops the Ainsdale crew - they're out in all weather.
Hopefully as the days get longer, Team Can't Kite will be back out on the beach. Archie will be freestyle buggying, Pud will be jumping cars, and maybe Arch will actually have a go on her landboard...

Recent Team Can't Kite convert Geoff came out to play at Ainsdale this weekend. And even better, he's written us an article to tell us all about his first day out since he bought his own kite.
The wind was blowing off the sea at a steady 15mph, with gusts up to 20mph, and a relatively high tide leaving the sand quite waterlogged. Team members Arch, Phat Kid, Mattface, Geoff and our youngest member Archie hit the sands for some soggy fun.
To read about the day, click here to go to the reviews section
If you want to read more from Geoff, his debut novel, Needle has just been published by Spikytop Books and can be bought or downloaded here.

Well, this weekend saw a whole host of top flyers decend on Ainsdale On Sea to show off their freestyle skills. So Team Can't Kite took advantage of the situation to throw themselves out of buggies and recruit more members. Photos will soon be in the gallery, and a review coming soon from Geoff - our latest convert.

If you are at all interested in what we have to say about anything, then have a gander at the reviews section where we give stuff the thumbs up or down (mostly up, we're nice people).
Mattface has started us off with a great summary of a recent team outing which you can read here
Look out for more reviews as we go new places and try new things!

Well you can now!
Get yourself over to www.cafepress.com/teamcantkite where you can buy T-shirts, bags, hats, mugs and stickers, all with a delightful selection of our slogans plastered over them.
For every item you buy, about another 20p goes into the Summer Kite Roadtrip fund! So go on, send us somewhere sunny and look pretty damn cool down the beach with Team Can't Kite branded gear!
